Alright, I admit it. My diet needs some work. Like, some serious work. Especially since I’m in this weight loss challenge. I need to go back and read WomanCode by Alisa Vitti because she had some amazing tips for women! Her book is all about your hormones and how your diet affects them. This is extremely helpful in my case since I have PCOS. Long story short, my body just doesn’t handle simple carbs well at all. Like, it’s probably the WORST thing I can put in my body. Yet I do it anyways like an idiot. So this is my goal this week. Pulling this book back out and utilizing this tool to alter what I choose to eat so I am eating what is best for my body.
That being said, I know y’all are itching to know how week 3 went. Week 2 of the weight loss challenge was pretty awesome for me because I saw some improvements in my strength. I’m excited to say that week 3 of the weight loss challenge was no different!!
Y’all, I am able to keep up with jogging! I am no longer a “power-walker,” which is just incredible to me! I have done it every day I’ve worked out this week and I am happy to say that I can do it! I mean, look at those numbers!! So proud of myself, guys!
To go a little more in-depth about Orangetheory Fitness, each day there is a particular focus for the workout. Each day will either be an Endurance, Strength, or Power day. OR a combination of all three called an ESP day.
This past week, I was able to test myself during the Strength day. I jogged at an incline, y’all. And I was able to continue that pace the entire workout! I honestly couldn’t believe it. I actually walked in there and told myself that I would be a power-walker that day because jogging at an incline scared me. But I watched my heart rate on the screen and noticed that I was nowhere near the orange zone even powerwalking at a high incline. You can see from the performance summary above that I definitely reached the Orange zone hahahaha. I knew the only way to get my heart rate up was to jog. So I did! And I certainly surprised myself!!
Moral of the story… it’s amazing what you’re body can do if you don’t allow your mind to control it.
Any small victories for you guys this week? Or large?! Do tell!!
