Mother’s Day is just around the corner, which is NUTS. This year is going by crazy fast.
But that’s beside the point.
I know you moms work extremely hard 24/7 to take care of your little ones, your home, your spouse, your career, your side hustles, and pretty much all the things. Moms are basically super humans.
But even super humans deserve a little pampering every now and then, you know what I mean?
So, I wanted to put together a little something special for you moms to show you how you can pamper yourself this Mother’s Day.
Now if you’re a mom, then I know you probably have a hard time finding ANY time for yourself, let alone giving yourself some alone time this Mother’s Day. So, if that’s not possible, then this is for you, girlfriend.
Pour yourself a glass of rosé (or two), turn on some jazz, light some candles (on a counter where you kiddo can’t get them, of course), and turn on your crock pot. If you can get away long enough, create this spa like vibe in your bathroom. Because all this + a bubble bath = heaven. But really, you totally deserve this.
I know you’re probably wondering why you need a crock pot LOL.
It’s to warm towels, friends. We aren’t cooking pot roast tonight, okay? That’s def not my forté.
But really, all you have to do is take a couple of hand towels, get them wet and put them in the crockpot. Now you’ve got yourself a towel warmer.
So, here’s the deal. You’re going to have yourself a mini spa night this Mother’s Day, ok? Don’t worry, it won’t take up too much time… unless you want it to, then go for it, babe, because we all need ourselves a little getaway every now and then, you know what I mean?
It all starts with setting the tone though. Make sure you’ve poured yourself some rosé, lit some candles (this one is my fav), and turned on some jazz. Seriously, even if you just do this, I’m convinced you’ll feel an instant shift in how your feel all because of the ambiance.
Next, we’ve got to take care of you.
That starts with taking off makeup. If you’re not wearing any, then you can skip this step LOL. This right here is my FAV makeup remover ever. It seriously melts away the makeup and nourishes the skin all at the same time. All you have to do is massage this European style cream cleanser onto your dry skin, then take one of those warm towels from your DIY towel warmer, and steam your face with it. All you have to do is wipe away the makeup. Seriously, easy peasy. And if you’re using my fav bamboo wash cloth, it RINSES CLEAN. It’s basically magic. Let me know if you want to try one of these unicorn cloths. There’s only one way you can get them and it’s through me!
Next, you want to put on a hydrating mask. Yes, HYDRATING. Even if you’re oily. I promise it won’t make you more oily. EVERY skin type needs hydration, and I’ll be writing a blog post about this soon.
All you have to do is take that same cleanser and massage it into your skin again. Yes, this stuff is a 3 in 1. It removes makeup, is a cleanser, AND a hydrating mask. Obsessed.
Massage this cleanser onto your dry skin again, but this time let it sit. We didn’t let it sit last time because that would just mean you let makeup sit on your skin, and that’s kinda gross, you know? LOL.
Make sure you grab your rosé and take a bubble bath. I’ll be going in depth on how to create the best bubble bath experience in a future blog post. But for now, grab some Epsom salts and/or a bath bomb and let yourself relax, girl. I like these bath bombs because they’re super chic and go with the vibe I’m trying to create.
If you’re like me, then you only stay in the bath for a very short amount of time (I get superrrrr claustrophobic but I love it for about 5 minutes lol), but really stay in there as long as you want.
Whenever I take a bath, I LOVE to exfoliate. Idk what it is but something about relaxing makes me want to make my skin baby soft lol.
I have been a fan of Lush products for years. And one of my fav products from them is called Buffy. It is a body butter, but it’s also an exfoliator. It’s packed full of exfoliating ground rice, almonds and beans in a creamy cocoa and shea butter base so you can slough away your dry bits and moisturize at the same time, revealing smooth, bright skin.
It’s super efficient, which I love.
Once you’ve exfoliated your body, make sure you have another clean, warm towel waiting on you to take off that mask.
Once you take off your mask, you want to make sure you’re adding even more nourishing ingredients to your skin.
First things first, you’ve GOT to get yourself a good serum. If you don’t have one, I highly recommend this one. It has seriously changed my skin in so many ways, I don’t even know where to start. All I know is that my skin freaks out if I don’t use it.
After you apply your serum, make sure you are taking care of your eyes. This is where we start to age first, and this is also where you can tell just how tired someone is. You def don’t want to look like you’ve only gotten 3 hours of sleep the last week (even if that’s true). I highly recommend this eye cream to treat ALL the things from fine lines and wrinkles, to puffiness, to hyperpigmentation, to dehydration, to dark circles. This is your new best friend.
Lastly, you need yourself a good moisturizer to lock that serum in. This one is my favorite and works extremely well for both oily skin AND dry skin. I know, it’s kinda crazy but I swear it does! I also use it day and night and I’ve never found a moisturizer I can use for both AM and PM before. It’s perfect and makes my makeup go on so smooth.
And to make sure you’re getting extra pampered, treat yourself to another glass of rosé, ok?
You deserve some pampering (especially on Mother’s Day), you superhuman, you.
But really, I am just so thankful for all you moms out there. You are raising some incredible humans and I’m glad we get a day to celebrate YOU.
I hope you found some value in this! If so, let me know what your biggest takeaway was below. Or if you have some other ideas how to pamper yourself this Mother’s Day, please share! I want to know all the details.
